Sports/Play Trainer

Are you good with young children?

This is about being a SPORTS/PLAY TRAINER (with my three 11 year-old sons for the duration of the Course and for a period thereafter.)

Duration and Outline Description of the Work

The total period of employment is from Saturday 7 July to Sunday 19 August (both dates inclusive). The Sports/Play Trainer will look after and socialise with the children at home and The Mary Hare School (until 8 August) from breakfast until bedtime. They will need to be supervised thereafter until I return home. Generally the latest this will be is 22.30.

The boys may wish to join in with life at the School in which case the Sports/Play Trainer will become a member of the Sports Crew.

Accommodation and Meals

The post is resident with an en-suite bedroom at my home. All meals are provided at the School (until 8 August), thereafter at my home.

Pay

Pay is £1850.00 (one thousand eight hundred and fifty pounds) for the duration of the employment. Payment is by cheque at the end of the period of employment. If they wish, staff can be paid a 25% advance by cheque at the end of the first week, to be deducted from the final balance. As employment is temporary, weare not at present required to deduct PAYE from British staff at source unless they are ordinarily resident in the UK and, therefore, liable to PAYE. Staff must advise us if they are ordinarily resident in the UK. Anyone defined as a ‘student’ for this tax year is not liable to PAYE. Deductions will be on a ‘Week 1/Month 1′ basis. NI is deducted at the prevailing rate.

Suitability

I am looking for someone who is kind; patient; fit; sporty; outgoing; fun; not shy; not afraid of hard work; able to take responsibility and to supervise; as willing to tackle menial tasks like sorting laundry as to participate in sporting activities.

If this appeals, please complete only the questions in the online form that are applicable. If I wish to take your application further, I shall contact your referees and invite you here for interview. I shall pay your rail fare at the ‘saver’ day-return rate. If appointed, your acceptance of an offered post assumes the acceptance of the contents of the information on this page and the contents of  ‘Notes for Staff 2012′ and is the contract of employment. As there is responsibility for and substantial access to children, we run CRB checks. Proof of qualifications is required – as is an explanation for any gaps in CVs.

A note on Work Permits and why we cannot employ non-EU staff

If you do not hold an EU passport (or have a dispensation to take temporary work as a Commonwealth citizen), you are not permitted to work in the UK unless you possess a Work Permit. An employer has to obtain a Work Permit from the Home Office to allow a non EU citizen to work in the UK. The employer must prove that EU labour is not available for the job. As EU labour is available for EFL teaching posts, we do not apply for Work Permits.

If you do not fulfil the stated criteria, we shall not take your application further.
